In a double exhibition the gallery shows the artists Ulrich Becker and Jens Lehmann. The two former master students of Per Kirkeby at the Städelschule are united by a long studio association and the search for new materials in painting.
Ulrich Becker (*1966) will make the gallery space appear completely new with a wall work made of colored plastic foil. Jens Lehmann (*1968) responds to his gestural-organic intervention on the wall with painting transferred into the space: his screen with painted glass surfaces, which is both painting and sculpture and furniture, combines gesture and color field with transparency and opacity.
