FLOWERS FOR THE PAINTINGS

For the start of the Frankfurt galleries' season, we will be showing the painter Robert Klümpen (*1973) with his studio-fresh large-format floral still lifes, which bring together the abstract and the representational. In doing so, he uses artistic reference points such as Odilon Redon or David Hockney in addition to real flower arrangements, and something completely new emerges in his characteristic virtuoso painting. The artist, who trained at the Düsseldorf Academy under A. R. Penck and Dieter Krieg, has been teaching at the HBK Braunschweig since 2022 after professorships at the HfBK Dresden and Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle an der Saale.
